How to install the SIM card:

A SIM Card (Subscriber Identity Module) is a small white microchip that contains your account information (your phone number and contacts etc) and gives your device access to the Rogers Wireless network.

• Most SIM cards are installed behind or beside the battery on your wireless device (when in doubt, check your device's user manual).
• Make sure your device is turned OFF before removing the back cover and battery
• Insert the SIM card into its slot - it might be easy to mistake your device's memory card slot (for photos or songs) for a SIM card slot, but you'll see they're not quite the same shape.
• Replace the battery and the back cover and power ON your wireless device and you'll be connected to the Rogers Wireless network

REMINDER: Charge your wireless device fully before inserting the SIM card.

How to set up & use Voicemail:

To set up voicemail:

• Turn your phone off and then on
• Hold down the "1" key
• Follow the prompts to set up your personal password and record your greeting

To check for voicemail messages:

From your wireless phone

• Press and hold down the "1"
• Follow the prompts to listen to your messages

From a landline phone

• Dial your own wireless phone number and press # when you hear the greeting
• Enter your password to listen to your messages

Voicemail shortcuts:

1 1 -- Rewinds to beginning of message

1 -- rewinds 10 seconds (during message)

3 3 -- Fast-forwards to end of message

3 -- fast-forwards 10 seconds

4 4 -- Goes back one message

8 -- Dials caller's phone number (available with Enhanced Voicemail

4 2 2 1 -- Turns password skip on (available with Enhanced Voicemail)

Transfer contacts to another device

Upgrading your wireless device? Copy your existing contacts to your new wireless device via your SIM card.

• Before you make the upgrade, open your ADDRESS BOOK on your older device and highlight a contact
• Select OPTIONS and you'll see COPY TO SIM - you may be asked if you would like to copy all (or multiple) contacts
• You may see a small icon beside a contact name to confirm the info is stored on the SIM card
• Select the OPTION and select COPY (OR IMPORT) SIM CONTACTS

Roaming and Long Distance explained

About Roaming

"Roaming" is when you're outside of Canada, off the Rogers network, and using your phone while connected to a partner wireless network. When Roaming, you will be charged posted voice roaming rates per minute specific to that country/region. So if you're in the US or Europe, for example, and want to either call home, call another country, or make an in-country call (e.g. to book a restaurant), you'll be using a foreign network that has a roaming agreement with Rogers and will be charged the roaming (not long distance!) rate according to the region or country you are calling from.

About Long Distance

Long distance calling is when you're in Canada, connected to the Rogers Wireless network, and you make a call to a number outside your local calling area.
